How I Became A Vegan Cake Maker In Bristol!
A Dream To Become A Vegan Cake Maker In Bristol...
I got into cake making by complete accident. When I first met my husband, Tom, I decided to bake him a birthday cake, and it pretty much just snowballed from there. After going vegan myself back in 2018, I jumped headfirst into the world of plant-based baking. Luckily for me, I found myself living in Bristol, one of the vegan capitals of Europe! I have been obsessed with baking vegan cakes ever since, especially ones bursting with flavour, colour, and a shedload of personality.
What I love most about what I do is bringing joy to people’s celebrations. Whether it is a kids’ birthday party, a milestone anniversary, or simply marking something special, I get to be part of those moments. That feeling will never get old.
Every cake I make is vegan, dairy-free, and egg-free, with nut-free and soya-free options available too. My style is bold, fun, and sometimes a little bit out there. I believe everyone deserves to be celebrated for exactly who they are, and your cake should reflect that.
Beyond all things cake, I am a huge film and TV buff. As a classic millennial, give me Friends, Buffy, and Practical Magic any day of the week! I am also passionate about health and fitness, regularly making time for meditation and yoga. And, of course, I love spending time with our pet chinchilla, Chip. He is an absolute cutie with so much personality!
Eco Friendly Cakes, Made Right Here In Bristol…
Supporting Local Conservation: For every single order I receive, I make a small donation to the Avon Wildlife Trust. Your celebration quite literally contributes to supporting the beautiful nature that’s right on our doorstep.
Sustainable Sourcing: I prioritise companies that champion sustainability as a core part of their business model. It matters who I'm supporting with my money, and I want to back businesses that are doing truly amazing things.
Eco-friendly Practices: Reusable piping bags, compostable cling film, and recyclable cake boxes. I'd much rather make decorations edible than chuck plastic in landfill. Less waste, more cake? Win-win!
This is very much a work in progress, and there's always more that can be done. But I'm proud of the steps I have taken so far, and I will continue to try and find better ways of doing things.

“This is amazing cake! You’ve not tasted good cake, until you’ve had this cake. I am a repeat customer and will be as long as Jo keeps making cakes!”
